A thrilling nationwide activation campaign featuring a giant meatball sub bus, 18 iconic Australian landmarks, and a coordinated team of 36 content creators capturing every moment from Cairns to Melbourne.

Subway Australia partnered with their activation agency to create an unprecedented nationwide experiential marketing campaign. The challenge? Coordinating simultaneous content production across 18 iconic Australian locations—from the tropical north in Cairns to the cultural hub of Melbourne in the south.
The centerpiece was a custom-designed bus that looked like a giant meatball sub (complete with a mini Big Mac in tow), traveling to Australia's famous "big things" landmarks. The campaign needed to capture the energy, fun, and community engagement at each stop while maintaining consistent brand messaging and visual quality across all locations.
With a tight timeline, diverse locations ranging from regional landmarks to major city centers like Sydney Opera House, and the logistical complexity of coordinating dozens of creators simultaneously, this project demanded flawless execution and seamless collaboration.
Vidsta assembled an impressive nationwide team of 18 skilled videographers and 18 photographers—one dedicated crew member for each location. This strategic deployment ensured consistent, high-quality content capture at every stop along the journey.
Our crews captured the full spectrum of the activation experience—from sweeping landscape shots featuring the giant sub bus against iconic Australian landmarks like the Giant Pineapple, to intimate moments of locals engaging with the activation through games, giveaways, and photo opportunities.
Each location told its own story: the sun-soaked beaches of Bondi, the cultural vibrancy of Melbourne's city center, the architectural grandeur of Sydney Opera House, and the regional charm of Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Our teams seamlessly transitioned from regional to urban settings, maintaining the campaign's energetic spirit throughout.

The campaign successfully showcased Subway's expanding lunch range while demonstrating the brand's connection to Australian culture and communities. From regional townships to major metropolitan centers, the content told a cohesive story of accessibility, fun, and local engagement.
Creating content across 18 locations in such a short timeframe was more than just a task; it was a creative collaboration with our client and crew. Each photographer and videographer played a vital role in shaping not only the images but also the entire narrative of Subway's activation.
